As currently defined, found from S Mexico (S Chiapas) through Central America (confirmed from Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama) and into South America, where found in Colombia, Venezuela, E Ecuador, Peru, N Bolivia, E Paraguay, NE Argentina, and Brazil in Amazonian and the Atlantic Forest; the full distribution of this species has not been fully established.
