Original type locality

H. destructor ist die Hausmaus der Plantagen, welche am Rande der Urwälder liegen; sie ist aber immerhin ziemlich selten. Ein Paar davon nistete in einer unserer Kisten, in welcher wir unsere naturhistorische Ausbeute von mehreren Monaten hatten, und zerstörte uns den grössten Theil derselben, da wir leider zu spät diesen verderblichen Feind bemerkten.
