Location:Madagascar, Vatovavy region (formerly part of Fianarantsoa province), Ranomafana National Park, 0.5km from Ambdiamontana, 7 km west of Ranomafana (21o 15'S; 47o 26'E)Date taken:Jul 29, 1988Description : Also as Webb's Tuft-tailed Rat.

Distribution :

Lowland rainforest, sea level-1150 m, E Madagascar, from Montagne d’Ambre in the north to southernmost reaches of the Anosyenne and Vohimena Mountains, including littoral forests in the extreme southeast.
